Court filings show authorities searched for more than a week before finding a woman stuffed in a
window seat at her South Sioux City home.
The body of 47-year-old Kelly Alspach was discovered Oct. 21. Dakota County Court records say she died of blunt force trauma to the head and asphyxia.
Alspach's boyfriend, 53-year-old John Baker, is being held in North Dakota. He faces a murder charge in her death.
The arrest warrant for Baker says investigators were alerted Oct. 12 that he was suicidal. Officers went to the couple's home but no one answered.
The next day, Alspach's employer reported she hadn't been to work for four days.
The warrant says police searched the house, cistern and a rental property before finding the body.
