The next step in B-P-I's defamation lawsuit against ABC News is set for December 17th at 1pm in Union County
That's when oral arguments are scheduled in a motion by ABC to dismiss the lawsuit over their news coverage that referred to B-P-I's lean finely textured beef as "pink slime."
The lawsuit was moved from federal court to circuit court in June.
Dakota Dunes-based BPI claims the TV network damaged the company by misleading consumers into believing that its lean, finely textured beef is unhealthy and unsafe.
B-P-I is seeking $1.2 billion dollars in damages.
The company maintains the news coverage led to the closure of three plants and around 700 layoffs.
