A Sioux City attorney has announced his candidacy for the city council.
Dan Moore has lived in Sioux City for 36 years and is a partner in the Berenstein, Moore, Heffernan, Moeller & Johnson Law firm.
He served as president of the Iowa State Bar Association from 2008-09.
In addition, Moore has served more than twenty-five years on the Sioux City Planning and Zoning Commission, including a term as the group's chairman.
He also has served as the chairman of the Sioux City Board of Adjustment and is a member of the Taxpayers Research Council as well as a member of the board of directors of Jackson Recovery.
Moore has also represented the Sioux City School District as their attorney.
Moore sees the need to create jobs as the main focus of the new city council and let businesses and industry know that Sioux City is "open for business".
