Missouri River Historical Development, which holds the license for the Argosy Belle riverboat casino in Sioux City, is looking for the Iowa Racing and Gaming commission to intervene in the latest dispute with the casino boat's operator.
Penn Gaming filed a "Petition for Receiver" in Polk County Court Monday to have the court appoint a third party "receiver" to hold revenues normally paid to MRHD that the Argosy currently generates.
Mark Monson, board chairman of MRHD, says Penn's latest action goes against what the state gaming commission has already ordered:
Monson says he hopes the IRGC will take up the matter quickly, and that MRHD will likely have to file a response to the petition:
Argosy cites in the petition the ongoing dispute over whether a contract exists between them and MRHD.
