The search for the suspect in Monday's shooting of a Sioux City policeman led to an Omaha, Nebraska neighborhood Thursday night.
Omaha TV Station KETV reported that the Fugitive Task Force surrounded an entire block near 25th and Marcy streets Thursday night after getting a credible tip that 22-year-old Jamal Dean may have been in the area.
Officer James Shade told KETV News that police were not able to locate Dean, but they believe he has connections to the Omaha area.
Dean is wanted for attempted murder in the shooting of Officer Kevin McCormick Monday afternoon during a routine traffic stop. McCormick was shot in the head but is expected to make a full recovery from his injury.
A $15,000 reward has been offered for information leading to Dean's arrest.
