The Women United division of the United Way of Siouxland awarded $85-thousand dollars in grants to ten programs benefiting Siouxland youth on Thursday.
The Brighter Futures grants included $20-thousand for the backpack program of the Food Bank of Siouxland and over $15-thousand to Goodwill Industries "Youth Build" skills and grills nutrition program.
Others receiving funding included St. James United Methodist Church, the Iowa Lions Foundation, the STARS Horses Healing Hearts and Siouxland Community Health Center.
