CAR SEAT RECYCLING EFFORT

St. Luke's Hospital and Sioux Body Shop have launched a car seat recycling program.

The initiative gives parents an easy way to dispose of expired car seats plus the two organizations will educate parents and caregivers on car seat safety.

A car seat's expiration date and history determine when a car seat needs to be disposed of.

Many car seats should not be used after five years or if they have been in an accident.

You may drop off expired car seats at Sioux Body Shop at 501 W 8th St., Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.

The seats will be disassembled and recycled.
