A former South Sioux City, Nebraska woman accused of faking a hate crime has withdrawn a motion to move her trial out of Lincoln.
Charlie Rogers' lawyer backed out of the change-of-venue request Wednesday in Lancaster County District Court. Rogers' trial is scheduled to start Jan. 7.
Rogers is charged with making a false report for telling police in July that three masked men broke into her home, assaulted her and carved derogatory words in her arms and abdomen.
Lancaster County Judge Gale Pokorny overruled the motion with prejudice, which means Rogers can't ask for another venue change.
