CITY OFFICIALS HAVE CLOSED THE INTERSECTION OF 13TH AND JONES STREETS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE BECAUSE OF A GIANT SINKHOLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THAT THROUGHWAY.
THE SINKHOLE CAUSED WHEN THE STREET GAVE WAY EARLY THURSDAY AFTERNOON IS AT LEAST 12 FEET DEEP.
CITY CREWS HAVE PUT UP SNOW FENCING AROUND THE INTERSECTION TO KEEP TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIANS AWAY FROM THE HOLE.
IT’S NOT YET KNOWN WHAT CAUSED THE STREET TO COLLAPSE.
