Plymouth County Sheriff Mike Van Otterloo has released the names of the two elderly individuals found dead at their Akron rural residence Wednesday evening.

They are 83 year old Donald Neunaber and his wife 80 year old Esther Neunaber.

The bodies were removed from their home Thursday evening at about 6:00 p.m. and transferred to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy to be performed today.

Investigators are continuing to process the scene of the deaths and hope to complete that part of the investigation by late afternoon.

44 year old Jonathon Neunaber is the son of the deceased couple and had a warrant issued as a material witness. Neunaber was located by officers in La Crosse, Wisconsin last evening.

NEUNABER IS THE CHAIRMAN OF THE PLYMOUTH COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY. ARRANGEMENTS ARE BEING MADE TO TRANSPORT NEUNABER BACK TO PLYMOUTH COUNTY.

THE SHERIFF SAYS THE MANNER OF THE VICTIM’S DEATHS WAS VIOLENT AND THE BODIES HAD BEEN IN THE HOME FOR SOME TIME.

THE NAMES OF THE VICTIMS HAVE NOT BEEN RELEASED.

THE IOWA D-C-I , THE STATE PATROL AND THE WOODBURY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARE AMONG THE LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES ASSISTING IN THE INVESTIGATION.
