City Public Works crews have begun removing the temporary levee extension on River Drive.

Assistant city manager Jade Dundas says the work began Wednesday morning:

Crews will also remove the flood pumps that were put in place to pump any rain water that accumulated behind the levee.

Dundas says Riverside residents may dispose of their sandbags by bringing them to the field services double gate just east of 1921 18th Street between 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday and Friday.

Dundas says there were no reports of water damage to Riverside homes from the Big Sioux River in last weeks flood event.
