The Republican running mate for Nebraska GOP gubernatorial candidate Pete Ricketts is a familiar name in the Cornhusker state.
Ricketts named current Lieutenant Governor Lavon Heidemann as his nominee for Lieutenant Governor.
Heidemann was appointed Lieutenant Governor in February 2013 by outgoing governor Dave Heineman.
Prior to that, he briefly served on the University of Nebraska Board of Regents and was a state senator from 2005 to 2013.
Six of those years Heidemann chaired the Appropriations Committee.
