THE NEBRASKA STATE PATROL IS CONTINUING ITS INVESTIGATION OF A SHOOTING SATURDAY NIGHT THAT RESULTED IN THE DEATH OF THE SUSPECT AND WOUNDING OF A WOMAN.

THE INCIDENT BEGAN AROUND 7:30PM SATURDAY IN A NORTH SIOUX CITY PARKING LOT WHERE A WOMAN WAS SHOT BY THE SUSPECT.

THE SUSPECT DROVE OFF IN A PICK UP TRUCK DOWN INTERSTATE 29 INTO IOWA, THEN HEADED INTO NEBRASKA DOWN HIGHWAY 75 INTO THURSTON COUNTY, EVENTUALLY ENDING UP NORTH OF MACY.

THE STATE PATROL CONFIRMED THE SUSPECT REFUSED TO SURRENDER, AND TOOK HIS OWN LIFE.

HIS BODY WAS RECOVERED FROM THE PICK UP TRUCK.

THE NAMES OF THE SUSPECT AND THE WOMAN SHOT IN SOUTH DAKOTA HAVE NOT BEEN RELEASED.

HER INJURY WAS NOT BELIEVED TO BE LIFE THREATENING.

AUTHORITIES FROM STATE, COUNTY AND CITY LAW ENFORCEMENT FROM OUR TRI-STATE AREA WERE INVOLVED IN THE PURSUIT.
