SIOUX CITY POLICE HAVE IDENTIFIED THE DRIVERS IN WEDNESDAY’S FATAL HEAD ON COLLISION BETWEEN TWO VEHICLES ON THE HIGHWAY 20 BYPASS BETWEEN SUNNYBROOK DRIVE AND MORNINGSIDE AVENUE.

POLICE SAY THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED AROUND 7:40AM WHEN A WESTBOUND CAR DRIVEN BY 20 YEAR OLD MICHELLE HILLBURN OF SIOUX CITY CROSSED THE MEDIAN AND COLLIDED HEAD ON WITH AN ONCOMING EASTBOUND PICK UP TRUCK.

INVESTIGATORS SAY HILLBURN WAS NOT WEARING A SEAT BELT AND WAS EJECTED FROM HER VEHICLE.

SHE WAS PROUNOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE.

THE PICK UP DRIVER, 55 YEAR OLD MICHAEL HOLBROOK OF SOUTH SIOUX CITY, WAS TREATED AND RELEASED FROM MERCY MEDICAL CENTER.

HOLBROOK WAS WEARING A SEATBELT.

THE CAUSE OF THE CRASH REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION, BUT POLICE SAY THEY DO NOT BELIEVE EXCESSIVE SPEED, DRUGS OR ALCOHOL CONTRIBUTED TO THE ACCIDENT.
