IT’S PART OF THE NATIONAL ‘CLICK IT OR TICKET PROGRAM THAT BEGINS MONDAY AND RUNS THROUGH JUNE 1ST.

SIOUX CITY POLICE SAY THEY WILL STEP UP THEIR ENFORCEMENT EFFORTS TO MAKE SURE LOCAL DRIVERS ARE WEARING THEIR SEAT BELT.

FEDERAL DATA SHOWS THAT TRAFFIC FATALITIES HAVE INCREASED NATIONWIDE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FIVE YEARS.

IN 2012, 10,335 PEOPLE WHO DIED IN TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS WERE NOT WEARING A SEAT BELT.

THE IOWA STATE PATROL AND WOODBURY COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT WILL ALSO PARTICIPATE IN THE EFFORT.
