DISCARDED SMOKING MATERIALS ARE TO BLAME FOR A FIRE THAT SEVERELY DAMAGED A HOME AT 4306 ORLEANS AVENUE IN MORNINGSIDE FRIDAY AFTERNOON.
SMOKE AND FLAMES WERE COMING FROM THE TWO STORY WOOD FRAME STRUCTURE WHEN FIREFIGHTERS ARRIVED JUST BEFORE NOON.
THE RESIDENTS AT THE HOUSE ESCAPED SAFELY.
INVESTIGATORS SAY SMOKING MATERIAL WAS DISCARDED OUTSIDE NEAR THE REAR OF THE STRUCTURE, WHICH STARTED THE FIRE.
THE HOUSE HAS BEEN RED TAGGED BECAUSE OF THE DAMAGE.
THE SIOUXLAND RED CROSS IS ASSISTING THE RESIDENTS OF THE DWELLING.
