THE ANIMAL RIGHTS GROUP KNOWN AS “PETA” WANTS TO ERECT A TEN FOOT TALL MONUMENT ON GORDON DRIVE TO REMEMBER SEVERAL HUNDRED TURKEYS THAT DIED WHEN A TRUCK TOPPLED OVER EARLIER THIS MONTH.

THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION HAS RECEIVED A LETTER FROM ALEX MOORE OF PEOPLE FOR THE ETHICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS, REQUESTING D-O-T PERMISSION TO PLACE A 10 FOOT HIGH TOMBSTONE FOR ONE MONTH ON THE RIGHT OF WAY ON GORDON DRIVE AND SOUTH ALICE WHERE THE APRIL 12TH ACCIDENT OCCURRED.

MOORE SAYS OVER 500 TURKEYS DIED IN THE CRASH, AND THAT PETA WOULD SUPPLY THE MEMORIAL.
