FIREFIGHTERS FROM SEVERAL COMMUNITIES SPENT MUCH OF TUESDAY AFTERNOON BATTLING A MAJOR GRASS FIRE IN RURAL WOODBURY COUNTY.

THE FIRE WAS REPORTED AROUND 2;30PM IN A FIELD NEAR 150TH AND GARDNER AVENUE.

THE FIRE SPREAD TO OVER A MILE IN DIAMETER AND THREATENED THREE RESIDENCES.

NO STRUCTURES WERE DAMAGED.

FIREFIGHTERS FROM LAWTON, MOVILLE, BRONSON KINGSLEY AND PIERSON BATTLED THE BLAZE.

WOODBURY COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES, WOODBURY COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTIES AND THE IOWA STATE PATROL ASSITED AT THE SCENE.
