THE CITY COUNCIL HAS APPROVED SIOUX CITY’S BUDGET FOR THE NEXT FISCAL YEAR.

COUNCIL MEMBERS VOTED 3-2 FOR THE BUDGET, WITH MAYOR BOB SCOTT AND COUNCILMAN KEITH RADIG VOTING NO.

AROUND $19-THOUSAND IN EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE FUNDING WAS RESTORED TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT.

THE RESIDENTIAL LEVY WILL BE $16.37 PER $1000 OF ASSESSED RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY VALUE, AN INCREASE IN TAXES OF $31.00.

$25 OF THAT IS BECAUSE OF A CHANGE IN THE STATE ROLLBACK FORMULA.

COMMERCIAL PROPERTY TAX PAYERS WILL SEE A $69 REDUCTION IN WHAT THEY PAY COMPARED TO LAST FISCAL YEAR.
