SOUTH SIOUX CITY HAS GIVEN AWAY ABOUT HALF OF THE SAND THAT LAST SUMMER’S MISSOURI RIVER FLOOD DEPOSITED ALONG THE CITY’S RIVERFRONT PARK  SHORELINE.

CITY ADMINSTRATOR LANCE HEDQUIST SAYS THERE’S STILL ABOUT 10-THOUSAND TRUCKLOADS OF SAND LEFT TO BE MOVED THOUGH. HE SAYS THERE’S PLENTY OF PROJECTS IT’S BEING USED FOR:

HEDQUIST SAYS WHATEVER SAND THAT’S LEFT AT SCENIC PARK WILL BE COVERED OR BURIED IN A HOLE:

HEDQUIST SAYS ANYONE THAT WANTS TO TAKE SAND FOR CONSTRUCTION OR OTHER PROJECTS SHOULD CALL SOUTH SIOUX CITY HALL AT 494-7500 TO ARRANGE TO PICK IT UP.
