ANIMAL ABUSE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES

SAC COUNTY AUTHORITIES SAY NO CHARGES HAVE BEEN FILED YET IN AN ALLEGED ANIMAL ABUSE CASE NEAR KIRON, IOWA.

88 DOGS AND ONE CAT WERE RESCUED BY AUTHORITIES FROM A DOG BREEDER’S PROPERTY THERE THURSDAY MORNING. FIVE DOGS WERE FOUND DEAD AT THE RURAL PROPERTY OWNED BY MARY BRODERSON.

CHIEF DEPUTY SCOTT BROUWER SAYS AUTHORITES MADE THREE VISITS IN TEN DAYS TO THE PROPERTY, BUT WERE UNABLE TO LOCATE BRODERSON, OR ANY OTHER PERSON ON THE PROPERTY.

BRODERSON IS NOT LICENSED BY THE USDA TO SELL ANY OF THE DOGS. THE DOGS WERE MAINLY COCKER SPANIELS AND 14 ARE BEING CARED FOR IN SIOUX CITY.

THE INVESTIGATION OF THE CASE IS CONTINUING.
